Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium Donate £12,500
The team from Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium is thrilled to donate £6250 to Ayrshire Hospice and £6250 to CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) through its membership of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management’s Recycling of Metals Scheme.
Crematorium Manager, Jennifer Hamilton, says: ‘It is absolutely wonderful to be able to share the incredible sum of £12,500 between Ayrshire Hospice and CHAS to help them to continue to provide essential services to local families.
“The cost of providing these vital services continues to escalate and yet hospices disproportionately rely on charitable donations to make ends meet. We cannot express how thankful we are to each and every family who have given us permission to recycle metals following the sensitive cremation of their loved one. Every nail, screw and staple help to raise vital funds for charities in the bereavement sector.
“We are immensely proud of our participation in the Scheme. Since we opened our doors in 2018 we have been able to donate a massive £116,100 to local Hospices to assist with the provision of vital services within our communities.’
Ron Swanson, Fundraising Manager at Ayrshire Hospice said “As two-thirds of our funding comes from voluntary donations, our work is only made possible by the help provided by organisations like Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium. Your contribution will ensure that those in Ayrshire and Arran in need of hospice care continue to receive the highest standard of care possible. Through your support, we will continue to make today matter. Thanks to you we can also continue to offer bereavement counselling for those living with grief.”
And Cara Bowen, Community Fundraiser from CHAS adds ‘We are unable to provide the support for children and young people across Scotland living with life-shortening conditions without the support of local individuals and businesses alike. At CHAS we believe no one should face the death of their child alone and this money ensures we can be there for children and their families at every step of their toughest journeys. We cannot thank Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium enough for their generous donation. This will go towards keeping the joy alive for children throughout Scotland, thank you.”
Jennifer Hamilton added, “Care, kindness and supporting our communities is at the very heart of everything we do here at Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium, and to be able to honour the memory of loved ones by supporting our vital local hospices is something that we are extremely proud of, and something that we are sure brings great comfort to the families who have come to us for care.”
