New Memorial Garden at Clyde & Garnock Crematorium
Significant Six-Figure Expansion Project Confirmed
The team at Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium are preparing to start work on a major new memorial garden construction project at the multi award-winning facility.
The new memorial garden will see the construction of an enclosed and intimate space where families can come to spend time in quiet contemplation and reflection within an area of recognised outstanding natural beauty.
The new garden will be accessed via a beautiful entrance pergola leading to a circular seating area, surrounded by new private memorial plots providing families with space to create a fitting and lasting memorial for their loved one, and a space in which to return to reflect and remember.
The works are being carried out by Loudounhill Contracts Ltd, an Ayrshire-based contractor, and are set to start in early August, with a completion date of late September.
The crematorium management team have been working closely with Loudounhill in the planning of the project, and arrangements are in place to minimise any potential disruption to families while construction takes place.
Commenting on the new Memorial Garden, Jennifer Hamilton, Manager at Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium said:

It underlines our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding facilities for our families and our communities. We know how important it is for families to have somewhere to return to, where their loved one’s name is memorialised for all to see, and where they can create a space for the whole family to share.”
Jennifer added:
“We have been working closely with Loudounhill to ensure we minimise any potential disruption during the works. We have worked with Loudounhill on previous projects, and they are experienced in working in sensitive areas, and we are confident that the construction works will be carried out quickly and with minimal disruption.
“For safety, it will be necessary to minimise access to the Memorial Garden during the construction period. Families can access the gardens from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday, but the gardens will be closed at weekends. As soon as the works are finished, we will fully re-open the gardens so that families can visit 365 days a year.”
