£8000 Ayrshire Hospice Donation
We are incredibly proud to have made an important £8000 donation towards Ayrshire Hospice to help support the crucial end of life care that they provide for families across the local area.
This is the third major donation to local hospices we have now made since opening last summer, bringing the total raised to an incredible £20,000.00
The funds have been secured through our membership of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management National Recycling of Metals Scheme, with the £8000.00 donation officially presented to Ron Swanson of Ayrshire Hospice at the Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium on Thursday, 22nd May.
The Institute’s Recycling of Metals Scheme is a national initiative and works by sensitively recovering metals and orthopedic implants following cremation with the consent of bereaved families.
Commenting on the donation, Philip Ewing, Manager of the Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium, said: “As professionals assisting the bereaved, we recognise the financial challenges that organisations supporting families at their most difficult and vulnerable time face. This £8000 raised for Ayrshire Hospice will directly benefit the families they support.
“Our heart-felt thanks go to each and every family who consented to take part in the Institute’s national recycling scheme, without whom life-changing donations such as the one we are making today would not be possible.
“This is the third significant donation we have made to our local hospices since we opened in June, bringing the total raised to an incredible £20,000.00.
At the cheque handover, Ron Swanson, Assistant Fundraising Manager at Ayrshire Hospice thanked the Crematorium staff: “We are extremely grateful to Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium for this meaningful contribution to the Ayrshire Hospice. This donation will go directly towards helping us continue to provide specialist care and support to patients and families affected by life-limiting illness.
“Our charity relies hugely on the kindness and generosity of local supporters and this significant support from Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium, one of our charity partners, is truly valued.”
Philip Ewing added: “Like Ayrshire Hospice, our mission is to provide the very highest levels of care for families when they need support, and we are incredibly proud to be in a position to make this important donation.”
“Since its inception in 2006, the Institute’s national recycling of metals initiative has raised over £7.4million and has helped over 460 different charities, and it gives great comfort for those who have contributed to the scheme, to know that the money raised is used to support outstanding organisations like Ayrshire Hospice in the delivery of such important and sensitive end of life care.
